Double action: protects the mucosa and increases the pH

Vetilea Gastro is a Gastric protector nutritional aid in case of prevention or suspicion of gastric erosion or ulceration such as: in case of administration medications such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), inflammatory bowel disease, critical patients, secondary damage to the mucosa due to stress, ingestion of irritating or toxic substances, among others.
It can also be used in gastritis or in case of reflux esophagitis.

Vetilea Gastro contains a combination of Calcium Carbonate and Sodium Alginate, exerting a double action: protecting the mucosa and increasing the intragastric pH.

Calcium carbonate is a classic antacid that has a neutralizing effect.

Sodium alginate is a natural origin substante that forms a bioadhesive gel when in contact with calcium ions, for example with gastric fluid. This gel adheres to the gastric/aesophagic wall forming a protective barrier, avoiding the pepsin ahd HCl action on the damaged mucosa.

Even if it’s recommended after the intake of food, it can also be given with food. If prefered, the daily dose can be divided in 2 intakes.

Calcium carbonate is an antiacid and therefore it can interact with other drugs that need acid pH to be absorbed.

Therefore, it is recommended to separate the intake of the drug and Vetilea Gastro at least 2 hours apart.
