Making a Difference
Comprehensive Management and Comfort in Acute Diarrhea
The advanced efficacy of FIRMACTIN lies in its ability to address the inflammatory and algesic component, which are constant aspects in the etiopathogenesis of diarrhea, regardless of the primary cause.
This differentiating effect is due to palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), an endogenous bioactive lipid analog classified as a “cannabinoid-like”. PEA acts by activating the PPAR-alpha receptor, and indirectly enhances the effect of endocannabinoids by inhibiting enzymes that degrade them. This dual action confers potent effects, relieving abdominal discomfort.
Multimodal and synergistic approach to control acute diarrheal processes.
Its integral formulation focuses on three main actions: rehydration, absorbent intestinal support and modulation of the microbiota together with a soothing action and modulation of the cellular and immune response.

Frequent questions
Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is a bioactive lipid, endogenously synthesized as a tissue defense mechanism. It acts at the cellular level by modulating the activity of mast cells and enteric glial cells. This results in the inhibition of cellular hyperactivation of the intestinal immune system, exerting a potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic action. Thus, it relieves abdominal pain and discomfort, contributing to the restoration of the epithelial barrier integrity and to the normalization of gastrointestinal hypermotility associated with enteritis.
Given the high palatability of its excipient matrix, direct oral administration is generally well tolerated.
It is recommended that Vetilea Firmactin be administered separately from the feed ration (and oral medication). This ensures that the adsorbent component maintains its maximum capacity to bind toxins and pathogens without interfering with the absorption of nutrients or pharmacological active ingredients.
The duration of treatment should be limited to the resolution of acute symptomatology, a period clinically observed between 1 and 3 days. Prolonged use should be strictly avoided due to the risk of inducing constipation and altering normal colonic transit.
If diarrhea persists longer than 4 days or if clinical improvement is not observed within 24 hours, immediate veterinary evaluation is required.
The product is formulated without animal proteins.
The tablet format does not contain any ingredients of animal origin.
However, the gel format contains fish oil. Although the purification process is rigorous, in the presence of a known allergy or intolerance to fish protein, the risk of traces should be considered and, therefore, its administration is not recommended.
The formulation has been designed to be safe in all age stages. However, given the increased vulnerability to dehydration and systemic infections in young animals, administration in puppies should always be under strict veterinary supervision and recommendation.
